Roderick T. Kaufmann, M.D.
Dr. Roderick T. Kaufmann, Jr. was born and raised in New Jersey. He has been a distinguished member of the Princeton medical community since the late 1980s and has been named every year one of “New Jersey’s Top Docs” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He is a senior attending physician at the University Medical Center at Princeton where he has served as Chief of the section of Dermatology.
Dr. Kaufmann earned his undergraduate degree at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and North Shore University Hospital, and his residency in Dermatology at New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Hospital for Special Surgery and Rockefeller University Hospital in New York City.
He is the founding member, Physician Director and President of Princeton Dermatology Associates. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital -Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and a member of the Executive Committee of the Coalition of New Jersey Medical Professionals. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, on the Board of Directors of the Dermatological Society of New Jersey, and the Director of The Dermatological Society of New Jersey – Central Region.
Dr. Kaufmann has made it his life’s work to provide patients of all ages from infants to the elderly with the highest quality and most compassionate care, dedicating to them his undivided attention and relentless energy. He treats all skin problems as well as cosmetic issues, including but not limited to wrinkles, skin rejuvenation, excess hair growth, sun and age spots, facial and leg veins. To this end he employs the latest technologies including epiluminescent skin microscopy, surgical techniques, various lasers( PDL/Vbeam, Fractionated ablative and nonablative IPL, laser hair removal 755nm and 1064nm), Botox, fillers (Juvéderm™, Restylane®, Beletero®, Radiesse®, and Sculptra®), and various other procedures.
Dr. Kaufmann is married and has two adult children. His wife, a Hematologist/ Oncologist, recently completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine, and they both share a commitment to providing their patients with complementary therapy options as well. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, hiking, bicycling, and skiing He is a voracious reader of history and historical fiction. For many years he has mentored teenagers completing many community service projects in the region.
