Tara Chidsey, MSN, APN, FNP-BC, RNFA

Tara Chidsey, MSN, APN, FNP-BC, RNFA is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who was accepted into the highly selective Dermatology Fellows program with Princeton Dermatology Associates. Tara brings a diverse background in nursing and surgical care, shaped by years of education and hands-on experience in both the operating room and clinical practice.
Tara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN, in 2011. She then pursued her passion for healthcare, completing Drexel University’s Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) Program in just 11 months, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following nursing school, Tara worked as an Operating Room Nurse at Hahnemann University Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. In these roles, she gained extensive experience in circulating and scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedics, robotics, vascular, transplant, plastics, and neurosurgery. While working in the operating room, she pursued advanced education at Thomas Jefferson University, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, Tara transitioned to a role as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner at Shore Physician Group in Somers Point, NJ, where she worked for four years. During this time, she further expanded her skill set by completing her Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification at the University of Rochester, enabling her to assist in surgeries such as total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and sports medicine procedures.
Now transitioning into dermatology, Tara is eager to apply her clinical expertise in managing therapeutic regimens for both acute and chronic conditions, as well as her experience in patient education, psychosocial support, and procedural skills. She is excited to bring her comprehensive patient care approach to this new specialty and looks forward to making a meaningful impact in dermatological care.
Beyond her professional achievements, Tara enjoys spending her free time with her family and French Bulldog Brie at Long Beach Island. She has a deep love for travel, having studied abroad in Italy and recently explored Scotland and Egypt. An avid supporter of the arts, Tara has a background in ballet and was a former member of BalletNJ, where she performed bi-annual productions, including The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty.
