Mary-Katharine Emerel, M.D.

Dr. Mary-Katharine Emerel is board-certified in Dermatology, Dermatopathology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She is on staff at the University of Pennsylvania Medicine, Medical Center at Princeton. Dr. Emerel is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society of Dermatopathology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her background includes extensive experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of skin cancers, as well as facial reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Emerel completed her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and subsequently moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where she earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology to enhance her knowledge of skin cancer pathology and afterward, a Mohs surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Emerel is originally from upstate New York and has enjoyed moving to New Jersey to be closer to family. When not performing surgery, Dr. Emerel spends her time playing tennis and piano, and being with her friends and family.
