Martha E. Funkhouser, M.D.

Dr. Martha Funkhouser is a board certified dermatologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the Women’s Dermatology Society and the New Jersey Dermatology Society. She has been with Princeton Dermatology Associates since 1997.  She is on the medical staff of the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

Dr. Funkhouser attended Stanford University, graduating with honors with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biology.  She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and did her internship in internal medicine at the California Pacific Medical Center – California Campus. She then did her dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Funkhouser specializes in general dermatology and surgery of the skin.  She enjoys treating people of all ages from infants to the elderly and is dedicated to providing excellent care with sensitivity.  She is highly regarded within the medical community, recognized in 2016 as one of the “Leading Physicians of the World” by the International Association of Dermatologists.

Dr. Funkhouser’s husband is a professor at Princeton University. Through his work they have been able to enjoy several sabbaticals in the US and abroad, where Dr. Funkhouser has been able to share her dermatology skills and broaden her knowledge base in different national and international settings.  Dr. Funkhouser is originally from Minnesota and travels there often to visit family. She is a dedicated fitness enthusiast, a voracious reader, and above all enjoys spending time with her three young adult children and beloved dog, Sasha.
